Are you a convenient friend? If you know what I am talking about you probably are and if you don't than you probably have them.
A convenient friend is the person that gets called when there is nobody else to call or gets called to hang out only because they have something the caller wants. The convenient friend is also the first to be forgotten about or scratched off the list for parties or gatherings when it becomes just too many people. Calls are not usually answered or returned, and if you’re lucky you might get a nod in passing at the mall.
If you have convenient friends you might not even know you are doing this. You probably also don't have very many TRUE friends that you can count on in a pinch which is where we usually come in. So the next time you're sitting there on a Saturday night and you are working your way through your address book until you get to my section you might want to stop and think that as "Convenient" as we are for you, you might be the "Convenient Friend" for someone else which is why you ended up in my section of your address book in the first place.

- There are so many people that have GREAT news, not so great news or maybe just ok news but don't have anyone that will listen to what they have to say. Oh they hear, but hearing someone and listening to someone are very different. This isn't to say that these people don't have any friends because they (myself included) probably do have friends, but sometimes you just want to tell a story about what fantastic thing that just happened to you or how sad you are because someone you know just found out that they are very ill and you want to tell someone how you are feeling. Maybe you just had a blah day and you just want to vent about if you have to hear one more time about how much weight a coworker wants to lose so they can get into that little bathing suit on vacation all the while they are chowing down on the mini Snickers one after the other at the community candy bowl you are going to start putting paper cuts on your eye balls. - - - Sometimes it's easier to write your stories and feelings than it is to speak them. So listen to other people's stories or post your own here or somewhere else because there are lots of people that want to listen.
